2. Information We Collect

Account Details

When you register for an account, we collect your full name, email address, and an encrypted password hash. If you sign in using Google authentication, Google provides your name and email address to set up your profile. You may also optionally store your target PTE score and intended exam date.

Practice and Test Data

We store your diagnostic attempts, practice question answers, full mock test submissions, score summaries, question timing statistics, and historical progress metrics. This data allows you to review past attempts, track your improvement, and receive tailored practice recommendations.

Speaking Recordings

When you complete speaking practice or mock tests, your voice response is recorded through your browser microphone. Audio input is processed on your device only before being saved to secure database storage buckets so that automated scoring algorithms can evaluate your pronunciation and fluency, and so you can play back your recordings during attempt review.

Writing Responses

Your written practice answers are stored in our database alongside question prompts and score evaluations. This text is processed by automated evaluation models to calculate feedback on grammar, vocabulary, structure, and content relevance.

Payment and Transaction Information

Online payments on PenPTE are processed securely by Safepay. PenPTE stores transaction metadata, including order identifiers, package selection, amount, currency, payment status, and activation timestamps. PenPTE never receives, handles, or stores sensitive payment credentials, credit card numbers, bank PINs, or mobile wallet passwords.

Technical and Operational Logs

Our infrastructure and security service providers automatically collect standard web log data, including IP addresses, browser user agents, request timestamps, and system performance metrics. These logs are used to maintain application security, prevent unauthorized access, and ensure service reliability.

3. How We Use Your Information

4. Service Providers and Data Handling

We work with third-party service providers to host, secure, and deliver PenPTE. These include hosting, database, security, email, analytics, and AI service providers. Each provider accesses data strictly as necessary to perform its functions under confidential data processing obligations. No third-party AI service processes your practice content for advertising, marketing profiling, or external model training.

Safepay acts as our payment processing partner in Pakistan. When you purchase a package, your payment details are submitted directly to Safepay over encrypted channels.

Automated score evaluation uses server-side AI model integration to process text and speech responses. Your practice content is submitted programmatically over encrypted connections solely to generate score metrics and feedback.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

PenPTE uses essential authentication cookies to keep you signed in securely. These encrypted cookies are necessary for account login and platform operation.

We also use browser local storage to save your cookie preference choices, active test progression state, and session settings.

Optional analytics tags measure marketing performance only if you explicitly opt in. You can review or modify your cookie choices at any time using the Cookie Settings control.

6. Data Security and Retention

We implement technical safeguards including HTTPS encryption, secure database access permissions, and session token controls. While no internet service can offer absolute security guarantee, we take all reasonable steps to safeguard user information.

We retain your account profile, practice records, and test attempts for as long as your account remains active so you can track progress over time. If you request account deletion, we remove your account records within a reasonable timeframe, except where accounting or legal compliance requires temporary retention of transaction records.

7. Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to request access to your personal information, request corrections to inaccurate details, or request deletion of your account and associated practice data.

8. Age Policy

PenPTE is designed for students preparing for higher education, visa, and professional certification exams. Users must be at least 16 years of age to register an account on PenPTE. Users aged 16 or 17 require the consent of a parent or legal guardian to register and use the platform.
