Privacy Policy
Effective date: 23 June 2026
PenPTE (“we”, “our”, “the platform”) is an independent PTE Academic practice service. This policy explains what information we collect when you use PenPTE, how we use it, who we share it with, and what choices you have. PenPTE is not affiliated with Pearson.
1. Who We Are
PenPTE is an independent PTE Academic preparation platform. We provide practice questions, mock tests, estimated scoring feedback, and progress tracking. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or approved by Pearson PLC. All scores shown on PenPTE are estimated practice scores only.
2. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create a PenPTE account, we collect your name, email address, and a password (stored as a secure hash by Supabase). If you use Google Sign-In, Google provides your name and email to Supabase. We also store optional profile preferences such as your target PTE score and exam date.
Practice and test data
We store your practice answers, test attempt records, estimated scores, timing data, and performance history. This information is used to show your progress, identify weak areas, and generate performance reports within your account.
Speaking practice recordings
Speaking practice is captured via your browser's microphone using standard web audio APIs. Recordings are currently processed on your device only and are not transmitted to PenPTE servers. AI-based scoring of speaking responses is planned for a future update; this policy will be updated when that feature is live.
Writing practice responses
Your written practice answers are stored in our database alongside the question prompt and your estimated score. This allows you to review past attempts. AI-based writing evaluation is planned for a future update; this policy will be updated when that feature is active.
Payment information
During the current beta phase, PenPTE uses manual payment verification. When you submit a payment proof, we collect your transaction ID, WhatsApp number, and the filename of any uploaded screenshot. We do not collect or store your bank account number, Easypaisa PIN, OTP, or wallet credentials. Payment records (plan name, amount, payment reference, verification status) are stored in our database.
Technical and operational data
Our infrastructure provider (Supabase) and hosting provider (Vercel) may automatically collect technical information such as IP addresses, browser type, and access logs as part of normal service operation and security monitoring.
Analytics data (with consent only)
With your explicit consent, we use the Meta Pixel (Facebook Pixel) to measure the performance of our marketing. This may track page views and events such as account creation and checkout initiation. The Meta Pixel is not loaded before consent is granted. You can manage or withdraw consent at any time through the Cookie Settings available in the footer of this page.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and secure your account and authenticate your sessions.
- To deliver practice questions, mock tests, and estimated scoring feedback.
- To save and display your progress and performance history.
- To process and verify manual payments and activate your subscription.
- To respond to support requests.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or misuse of the platform.
- To improve platform content, features, and scoring accuracy.
- To measure marketing performance — only where analytics consent has been given.
4. Automated Score Generation
PenPTE currently generates estimated scores through automated analysis built into the platform. No third-party AI service processes your practice content at this time.
We are planning to integrate third-party AI services for more accurate speaking transcription and writing evaluation in a future update. When those services are integrated, your practice answers (speaking audio or written text) may be sent to those providers for processing. This policy will be updated to name specific providers before that feature is activated.
All scores generated by PenPTE are estimated practice scores only. They are not official PTE Academic scores. They are provided for preparation guidance and should not be relied upon for any official purpose.
5. Service Providers and Subprocessors
We use the following third-party services to operate PenPTE. Each provider processes data only as necessary for their role and is subject to their own privacy terms and applicable data protection obligations.
Supabase
Database, authentication, and backend infrastructure. Stores user accounts, practice data, test attempts, and payment records. Manages authentication tokens and session cookies.
Vercel
Web hosting and content delivery. Hosts and serves the PenPTE web application. May log request metadata for operational purposes.
Optional social sign-in. If you choose to sign in with Google, Google provides your name and email address to Supabase for account creation. Google's use of your data is governed by Google's privacy policy.
Meta (Facebook)
Marketing analytics — only with consent. The Meta Pixel is used to measure marketing campaign performance. It is loaded only after you have granted analytics and marketing consent. You can withdraw consent at any time through Cookie Settings.
Stripe
Payment processing — planned integration. Stripe is configured for future integration. International card payments are not yet active. When Stripe is enabled, payment card data will be handled directly by Stripe and will not be stored on PenPTE servers.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, fulfil legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security. Specific retention periods have not yet been formally defined for all data categories. This is an area PenPTE intends to formalise as the platform matures.
Account data is retained while your account is active. If you request deletion of your account and data, we will action that request within a reasonable time, subject to any legal retention obligations.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, or to receive a copy of your data. PenPTE will consider all such requests in good faith.
To make a request, email support@penpte.com with your account email and a description of your request.
Account deletion is not currently automated. You can request deletion by emailing support. We will remove your account and associated personal data within a reasonable timeframe, subject to any legal obligations that require retention.
Withdrawing analytics consent can be done at any time through the Cookie Settings control in the footer. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of any processing that occurred before withdrawal.
9. Children
PTE Academic candidates are generally 16 years of age or older. PenPTE is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete it. Parents or guardians who believe a child's information has been submitted should contact us at support@penpte.com.
10. International Data Transfer
PenPTE uses service providers whose infrastructure may be located outside your country of residence, including in the United States. By using PenPTE, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to and processed in countries that may have different data protection standards than your own. Our service providers are required to handle data in accordance with their applicable privacy commitments.
11. Security
PenPTE uses industry-standard security measures including HTTPS, secure authentication tokens managed by Supabase, and access controls on our database. No online service can guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach that affects your rights, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as PenPTE develops, particularly when new features (such as AI scoring or international payments) are introduced. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Material changes will be communicated where practical.
13. Contact
For privacy questions, data requests, or concerns, contact PenPTE support at support@penpte.com. We will respond to legitimate requests as promptly as possible.
